Unwind by Schusterman

What if your parents could unwind you when you turn 13? Your body parts would used for transplants to keep others alive. Technically, life doesn't end, but every part of the child is "harvested" to be parceled out and passed on to the highest bidder. Connor Lassiter, age 16, runs away from home after discovering that his parents have scheduled his "unwinding." Connor meets another Unwind, Risa, and they kidnap Lev, who is a Tithe (the 10th child born to a family with the purpose of being unwound). The story has lots of action, the characters change and grow and there will be many things to talk about. This is a great science fiction book that reads like it is real.
